Dental Hygiene is extremely important while wearing braces. If you neglect this area of care during your orthodontic treatment you may be surprised at how your smile looks once your orthodontist removes your brackets.

Here are 5 tips in brushing that will be sure to have your smile beautiful.

1  If your wearing rubber bands please be sure to remove them before you begin. Start with your toothbrush angled at a 45 degree angle making sure to brush your gums as well as the tooth.

Brush in small circular motion.  Make sure your brushing above and below your wire.

2 Brush the back of your teeth as well as the biting surface. Don’t forget the backside of your front teeth.

Use an interproximal brush to get underneath the wire in-between the brackets.

Floss between all teeth daily.

5 Spend 30 seconds on the top and bottom of each side. Be sure to see your Dentist twice a year for your dental cleanings and exam.
