Dr. Lupini and Dr. Hunter founded Drs. Hunter and Lupini in 1996. The practices were formerly owned by Clauss, Heisel, Kutt, and Papp. Dr. Hunter practiced in partnership with Dr. Lupini for 20 years until 2016. Dr. Lupini has been the exclusive owner of the practice since 2016.
Dr. Hunter received his pre-dental education from the University of Detroit (1985). He graduated in the top five of his dental school class with a D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (1989) and received his orthodontic specialty certificate from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Dentistry (1991). He was awarded membership in the Matthew Cryer Honor Society (1988) and received the Quintessence Award in Periodontics (1989), and the American Association of Orthodontics Award (1989).
Dr. Hunter is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontics, Michigan Dental Association, and Southwest Dental Association.
Dr. Hunter is currently in private practice, on a part-time basis in Northville Michigan.

John Lupini, DDS, MS, is the director of True Orthodontics, which specializes in early orthodontic treatment, teeth straightening, Invisalign alternatives, braces, clear braces, ceramic braces, retainers, permanent retainers, and treats children and adults. True Orthodontics serves all of the downriver communities including but not limited to Southeastern Michigan, Wayne County, Monroe County, Macomb County, Oakland County, Downriver, Trenton, Grosse Ile, Woodhaven, Riverview, Wyandotte, Melvindale, Ecorse, River Rouge, Detroit, Taylor, Westland, Garden City, Lincoln Park, Allen Park, Dearborn, Dearborn Heights, Romulus, Belleville, Huron Township, Van Buren Township, Flat Rock, Rockwood, South Rockwood, Gibraltar, Brownstown, Monroe, Huron Twp, Frenchtown, Newport, Carleton, Southgate and surrounding communities.
